I am responsible for delivering on a budget of £210k by devising, organizing and implementing fundraising events for the community. These so far have included a Midnight Walk, a Ball, a Colour Run, an international Trek and a ‘Strictly Learn to Dance’ event. This role involves working closely with the community to ensure the events are timely and appropriate, supporting event participants in their fundraising, raising awareness and working closely with budgeting procedures.

Home Based

I was responsible for delivering coaching and support to all volunteer managers across the East Midlands and North of England both in fundraising and cancer services. I supported with the planning, recruiting, selecting and managing of all types of volunteers through delivering quality standards and training. This role was home based and involved extensive travel across the country to deliver this consultancy role. This role further developed my understanding and knowledge of volunteer management good practice.

Barnsley, Rotherham And Doncaster

I provided maternity cover for the Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster area with an annual target of £640,000. I was responsible for delivering on four income streams (corporate, committees, individual giving and groups & associations) as well as assisting with national incentives such as the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and an extensive programme of challenge events. My role involved recruiting, training and managing volunteers, managing and forming committees, corporate fundraising, supporter stewardship, assisting with third party events, giving talks to a wide variety of audiences and working closely with local media both pro-actively and re-actively. I was also responsible for managing and organizing events including liaising with celebrities, working with gift aid and maximizing income. This role involved working closely to financial targets and budgeting procedures. I exceeded my target by £40k and doubled my corporate income. I was based at home, but with a huge amount of travelling to meetings and events across the patch.

I have gained extensive community and corporate fundraising experience from my time as a volunteer with Macmillan.I have a good track record of volunteer recruitment in a variety of settings including online, at University recruitment events and face to face. I have worked successfully with these volunteers to help create a brand new committee of University Students and have coordinated several bucket collections, using these dedicated volunteers to help fulfil these events. I regularly represent Macmillan at various events, raging from concerts to coffee mornings, fishing matches to full body waxing and everything in between! I have an excellent knowledge of Macmillan and am able to give talks on what Macmillan do, tailored to fit the events needs. I have extensive experience of speaking to schools on behalf of Macmillan and recently ran a whole day of workshops and talks for secondary school pupils. I was also active in promoting the 'Dress Up and Dance' event which piloted in schools last summer. I have project managed several large scale events, including Macmillan's 3 Month Challenge in Hull and am now working on a very exciting event for 2014. I have helped to facilitate many events by liaising with supporters to offer them my support and ensure that they have everything they need for their event to go as smoothly as possible. I pride myself on my customer care and ensuring that supporters have the best service from Macmillan.I have worked with many businesses, both local and national, to help raise funds for Macmillan. This has involved corporate pitching to ensure a COTY partnership, networking with local businesses to identify possible corporate partnerships, attending an afternoon tea to network with local business women and obtaining prizes from local and national businesses for raffles and competitions at events. These experiences have helped to develop my skills as a fundraiser which I hope will lead to employment in the charity sector.

Temporary maternity cover, assisting Regional fundraisers with their corporate relationships.I dealt with legal contracts and invoices as well as managing spreadsheet data bases. I worked closely with regional fundraising managers and Corporate Development Managers, giving me a great insight into corporate fundraising. I also undertook several administrative tasks, such as booking transport, posting out information to supporters, putting together packs for training courses and general office duties.

I have been responsible for modifying the database of Case Studies, both on spreadsheets and on the online portal, ready for the marketing team to use. Going forward, I hope to visit users of the service to collect their stories.
