I am a lecturer in environment and society at Macquarie University, teaching core concepts related to social ecological systems. I have an interdisciplinary background in sociology/anthropology and human geography- where I explore the intersections between colonial capitalist growth models and the environment through the lens of tourism geographies. In particular I focus on the embodied, emotional and affective relationalities between people, place and environments.I am interested in the intersections between cultural, societal and organisational transition into circular/ regenerative and well-being economies. I am internationally recognised for my work on alternative cultural and sustainable tourism, with peer reviewed book chapters and publications in leading academic journals. I am on the editorial board of 4 acclaimed journals, Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Geographies, Tourist Studies and Journal of Responsible Tourism, giving me cutting edge insights into sustainable tourism scholarship.I am an experienced facilitator having taught in University for over 15 years, presenting at international conferences andchairing keynotes and panels with industry professionals.I am an experienced researcher, having worked on projects within the university sector as well as industry. I have worked with non government and not for profit organisations in Peru, Ecuador, Samoa and Australia.
