I am a teacher with over 10 years of experience. Although I usually teach art, I have also been substitute teaching in an English classroom this year, working with children with learning support needs, and more. I taught art at a public high school for 6 years before opening my own art studio, which serves as an educational and event space in the community.I have a personal commitment to excellence, evidenced from my 4.0 college GPA, both in my undergraduate study and my educational certification several years later, all the way to my consistently high educational evaluation rating of 'distinguished', the highest rating available in the state of Pennsylvania.My experiences have helped me develop an array of skills that translate to many different jobs. As an educator, I have highly developed communication skills in areas of public speaking, writing, and individualized instruction. I work with individuals to assess their needs and adapt my communication style and approach, differentiating for each learner. I am comfortable and confident working with others in a leadership role. I have successfully managed a classroom with upwards of 30 young adults at a time. Building rapport and respectful, professional relationships with others is essential for my practice. My organization skills and attention to detail are also important to the environment I establish in the art studio. The expertise I have in project planning and management, event planning, and research and development for educational lessons has finely honed my time management skills. While expertise in even one of these areas would make for an impressive skill set, teachers must do it all! I am fully capable of working under pressure, managing heavy workloads, and meeting deadlines. As a small business owner, I have also developed skills in the area of website management, advertising, and social media management. I have been impressed with how readily nearly all my skills as an educator have translated to the role of a small business owner. I am confident that I would be an asset to any organization.
