I am on a mission to change the way workplaces approach and manage the wellbeing of their employees. During 2019/20, 17.9 million working days were lost due to work related stress, depression or anxiety; 55% of all lost working days. This has been on the increase in recent years.The events of this year have shown us all that changes can be made when circumstances force a change. I believe that we should be considering different, more effective ways of working to bring about positive change, rather than doing so because we have been forced to by a worldwide pandemic. Prevention is better than the cure! Improving workplace wellbeing benefits everyone; happy employees= happy customers and increased productivity. Plus, reducing sickness and staff turnover companies can save thousands on recruitment or agency costs. My personal life and my work life have often intertwined and I have had both positive and negative experiences with employers. As a single parent, I am passionate about life-work balance and after living through personal challenges and working in one of the most stressful jobs there is, I understand the importance of looking after your wellbeing. I have had a long career working with vulnerable people and supporting people to make changes in their lives. I now work with companies to improve employee wellbeing to help them increase productivity and reduce staff sickness, presenteeism and staff turnover by providing a bespoke consultation service. I am also passionate about the environment and I believe that addressing employee wellbeing by using forward thinking and innovative solutions, companies can also reduce their carbon footprint.
