I never saw myself in a marketing position, but I didn't know what marketing meant until it was part of my title. During my college years, I hung out with the oddball artsy people who lived off passion and coffee. I would have laughed if someone told me that later in life I'd be more passionate than ever working in marketing. I drink the same ridiculous amount of coffee. My identity on a day-to-day basis complements my professional strengths, which come down to:- I feed my fierce competitive nature. I want to win our proposals! Not because I want the glory, but because I believe my company can leave our clients and community happy. I am a means of proving this. - I own my creative spirit. The visual arts not only fascinate me, but my thought process is unique from the technical staff with whom I work, and use this in storytelling.- I know that relationships are more important. Schmoozing is fake; giving is real. People are, and will always be my business. I thrive working with people to gain their input, understand their strengths, earn their trust, and provide them with a final product they can use to its full potential. I put enormous effort to making this part of our branding and making certain that our clients know we genuinely care.- I know how to use a semicolon; the proper use of grammar makes a proposal easier to read. - I want my end product to be a good surprise. Submitting a proposal of higher quality than expected by our clients, our team partners, my superiors, and my peer coworkers is more invigorating than a good cup of coffee. Well, almost.
