Studying at Sydney University has been preparing me with the knowledge required to kick start my career in marketing and I'm ready to try build on that knowledge outside the classroom.In my final year I'm eager to gain some practical work experience, confidence in the workforce & some extra inspiration by helping me see where my degree can lead me. As Wayne Gretzky said, "skate to where the puck is going", so I'm getting ready for the next move.Marketing excites me for its challenging work and variety in a constantly evolving business environment. I've always been fascinated by the interplay between marketers & consumers - the influence of consumer behavior trends on marketing decisions & campaigns but also how our role as marketers has the influence to change societal perceptions.My second major in International Business has been a rewarding area of study as I believe it has a growing role in an integrating global business environment. Of this field I am most interested in the importance of cross-cultural management.To complement my studies I have recently completed work experience as a Social Media Intern at Lead Creation & have been promoted to supervise the Social Media division. I have been able to build a variety of skills in marketing communications, lead generation & research. I have also further developed my leadership abilities, client relations through involvement in various client meetings & have learnt an array of new information specific to the recent phenomenon of social media. Traditional media outlets are losing ground, the future is online, there's no doubt about it.Outside of university my primary activity is training with the Sydney University Athletics Club. I have had a passion for running since primary school & I find it a great way to keep a well balanced lifestyle.Beyond completing my degree I hope to achieve a graduate position in the marketing industry, locally or internationally where I could develop worldly experience.Specialties: Marketing research skills, social networking for businesses, customer service
