Senior Heritage Consultant skilled at writing desk-based assessments, contributing to environmental impact assessments, and producing written schemes of investigation and method statements for commercial projects, frequently Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.My expertise includes research and assessment of terrestrial, intertidal and marine archaeology using site visits, GIS interrogation, and documentary research. I have experience assessing geophysical and geotechnical source data, and data held by heritage bodies and organisations. Assessments are conducted with consideration of relevant planning legislation, policy, and guidance; and in liaison with clients, landowners and curatorial agencies.I have an excellent working knowledge of terrestrial British archaeology. I am highly skilled in the use of ArcGIS and QGIS for mapping and data management purposes; having taught paid courses in the use of QGIS for the Nautical Archaeology Society. I am also a capable field archaeologist, having experience in both urban and rural contexts. I am skilled in all aspects of the excavation, sampling, and recording of archaeological sites and features. I have experience in post-excavation practices including finds and environmental sample processing.
