As a Quality Systems Manager in the pharmaceutical industry, I go the extra mile to make sure my team understands the significance of what we do at work. Why? Because we are making medications that help cancer patients, stroke victims, children with autism, and others. What we do matters, which is why I foster a work environment that motivates people to be their best, to do their best, to give their best. Giving back is central to everything I do—not only at work, but in my community. I spend much of my free time volunteering in the community, whether it’s running in the Susan G. Komen’s “Race for the Cure,” participating with 'National Go RED', volunteering with the Wounded Warrior Project, or crocheting for a cause (I’ve crocheted beanies for preemies, scarves for Special Olympians, hats for cancer patients, and holiday ornaments of soldiers overseas). Other favorite organizations include the SPCA and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. As a veteran, volunteering comes naturally; my time as a Medical Specialist with the U.S. Army Reserves taught me what it means to support, connect, and serve.I see the world as three-dimensional; everything we do impacts the people around us. By ensuring that all of us are in full compliance with cGMP requirements, validation guidelines, and quality standards at our production facility, the patients who receive our medications are the ones who benefit—and I never lose sight of that fact.
