My name is Phoenix Armstrong, and I am recently new to the South Carolina area. I grew up in Asheville, North Carolina and ended up moving around a lot as a child. Eventually I ended up in Texas my high school years, and then I spent my college years going to Texas State in San Marcos. I graduated with my bachelors in Recreation Administration with a focus on Therapeutic Recreation in 2018. After college, I spent the last five years pursuing my passion in Recreation and Wilderness Therapy. I have moved to southern Utah and Washington where I took clients camping and backing packing to different National parks, rappelling off of red rock canyons, and skiing expeditions. My most recent adventure was actually at my previous home in Hilo, Hawaii where I worked as a horticultural wilderness therapy guide teaching students about permaculture and growing their own food. My personal interests include gardening, running long distance, hiking and exploring new areas. I would say my perfect day would consist of waking up early, driving to a new town I’ve never been to and challenging myself on a difficult hike. After the long hike, spending the rest of the evening taking it easy and enjoying a big meal with my friends and family. After my years of experience working with people in the outdoors, my passion for conservation is just as strong as ever! I am looking for an organization and company that allows me to share my knowledge about conservation to others while enhancing its goal to sustain our earth and wildlife. I am currently seeking a full-time position in conservation or a related field focused on finance. I believe that my varied background with people and the outdoors, I would be an amazing candidate to be apart of a team in this field!
