Manage the Chlorvinyls PVC Plant production facilities, power generation units and warehouse/logistics process in a SHE and efficient manner to meet INOVYN business objectives.1. Manage the ChlorVinyls S-PVC production assets and activities, co-coordinating with the SHEQ, maintenance, technical and projects support functions, to achieve the company production goals in terms of SHE, output, quality and cost.2. Manage the ChlorVinyls power and steam generation assets and activities as well as other onsite utility supplies such as cooling water, refrigerated water, demineralized water and plant air to achieve the company goals of SHE, output, quality and cost.3. Manage the ChlorVinyls warehouse / logistics assets and processes for S-PVC raw materials (chemicals and VCM), packaging and finished products, coordinating with North West (NW) production planning, customer service group and purchasing teams to achieve the company goals in terms of supply chain, SHE, quality, output and cost.4. Lead / Manage / participate in SHE programmes, operating effective process safety systems, to ensure that excellent SHE performance is achieved. To understand, implement and comply with the INEOS 20 Principles for Managing Behavioural and Process Safety, the Life Saving Rules and the requirements of the INEOS Group Guidance Notes.5. Participate in the COMAH assessment and improvement programs. Operate the production processes to ensure that emission levels satisfy Environment Agency (IPPC) and industry Charter requirements (such as ECVM, OCS).6. Promote the use of Manufacturing Excellence (MEx) principles and participate in the MEx programmes to ensure that processes and performance levels are continually improved.

Working as part of a small team ensuring that all Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) are followed in line with company procedures and policies in a top tier COMAH site storing Ethane in a cryogenic storage system, Propane in a cavity area and Naphtha in bulk liquid storage tanks. Design, prepare and implement Work Control Permits and ensure that all systems are hydrocarbon free and safe to work on before applying the Lock Out, Tag Out procedures.Be the “Super User” for the electronic Permit to Work system and deliver training where required to a high standard to ensure effectiveness and safety at all times.

I decided to look to move back to an Onshore role in late 2015 and the chance to work with Sabic on a new Ethane processing plant build was offered to me. In 6 months I became the site Control Room Operator and completed my Permit Authoriser qualifications.When on shift in the Main Control Room I was responsible for all issues relating to imports and exports of various chemicals and gases including Benzene, Propane, Cyclohexane and other dangerous substances. My role included using DeltaV DCS systems and Tank Manager software to ensure all imports from the Jetties and transfers to the end user are controlled and logged. The position also involved taking a lead role in any Emergency situations such as loss of containment and fires and requires a detailed knowledge of site process and hazards.

Production Technician on Britannia Platform. Responsibilities included operations and monitoring of Process, Gas and Utility Systems to maximise production and maintain safe running of plant and equipment, ensuring any mechanical isolations are designed and fitted in accordance with the company standards, participate in the Permit to Work System, test areas for explosive atmospheres, NORM, Benzene and Mercury prior to allowing vessel entry and general work scopes to commence and being a key team member while on shift.Shift Safety Rep responsible for forwarding of information regarding all Safety matters to my shift and attending weekly management meetings to discuss past and forecoming issues.The platform was undergoing a major new sub-sea tieback that was completed shortly before I left.

Based on the Curlew FPSO my main duties were to monitor and maintain Production and Utilities while on shift and undertake various Laboratory Sampling duties when needed.The main part of my time on Curlew involved preparations for a major Shutdown to prepare for various vessel entries and hot work. This involved full design and implementation of valve and positive isolations as well as draining, flushing, purging and venting operations.

Based on the Ninian South Platform I am responsible for safe day to day operations on a mature field producing 6000 barrels of oil per day. Primary responsibilities include product optimisation, first line maintenance, start up and shut down systems, permit issue and gas detection. A large part of my current job relates to the ISSOW permit to work system, we currently have a lot of contractors on the platform due to the age of the structure, it is my responsibility to issue and monitor all work in my designated area. I am also a Level one mechanical isolating authority with clearance to isolate and de-isolate any mechanical system safely on the platform.

Primary responsibilities are to be first point of call for all fuel related issues in the field for drivers, contractors and project team. Working closely with the on-going build of a 15 tank Bio Fuel blending facility to produce E5 fuel onsite and liaising between the Project Team and Operations Department. Commission blending manifold to prove it is fit for purpose and built as designed.Use my prior experience to implement a safe systems of work, train staff on loading procedures, introduce specific audits relating to fuels loading and troubleshoot a brand new loading system. First line maintenance issues on loading bays and storage tanks were undertaken by myself before reporting any escalating issues to the mechanical department.

During a 2 year sabbatical from the Petrochemical Industry I formed 1st Impression Signs. Although this business was no way related or similar to past experiences it allowed me to gain a sound understanding of Method Statements as I was regularly undertaking work for companies such as Shell, designHUS and HLA Services.My proven safety background earned me several contracts to sign write vans, factories and shops.

Primary responsibility was to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Jarrow Terminal, storing up to 40 million litres of mixed fuels and additives, supervising up to 60 staff over various departments and to deliver the Terminal plan.Terminal Lead Permit Issuer: Responsible for proof reading contractor method statements and raising required work permits, ensuring all potential hazards have been addressed before allowing any work to be carried out.Terminal Authorised Gas Tester: Responsible for checking work areas for explosive atmospheres prior to allowing any work to commence. Promoting a proactive HSE culture within the terminal, carrying out safe visits and safety audits, ensuring safe systems of work were maintained, enforcing terminal rules and working closely with the Terminal Manager to achieve targets on the terminal QHSSE action plan.Focal point for Jarrow Terminal for issues relating to QHSSE action plan.Carry out daily tank / product checks and sample outgoing fuel to ensure all quality is within required specifications.Sample incoming fuel for quality, quantity and specifications before allowing transfers to take place.Monitor product quality and availability and carry out reconciliation of daily stocks to make sure all levels fall within an agreed tolerance.Ensure maximum availability of the Vapour Recovery Unit (VRU).Communicate with and supervise all Terminal Drivers and Contractors.Be available as Terminal First Aider at all times while on shift.
