Company commander of a recruiting company responsible for the enlistment of qualified applicants into the US Army and Army Reserves. As the manager of an area spanning over 2,200 square miles, I was responsible for all operations related to recruiting, including but not limited to: planning, conducting, and supervising marketing and recruiting campaigns, networking with local community partners, maintaining the health and welfare of 61 Soldiers and 75 new enlistees, forging relationships with school administrators and increasing the US Army’s branding in Central NJ.

As an executive officer, I was responsible for directing the deactivation of an active duty Army unit. This involved the reassignment of over 187 diverse engineer Soldiers, the sustainment and repositioning of all Army equipment valued at over $14M, and the professional development of 48 Noncommissioned Officers and Soldiers. As a First Lieutenant, I was also entrusted with the responsibility to serve as the company commander for the same for five months unit during its deactivation.

Fort Polk, La; Kandahar Air Base, Afghanistan

As the platoon leader in an Army bridging unit, I was responsible for leading the morale and safety of 41 active duty Soldiers. I also led, planned and coordinated the necessary training to maintain maximum combat readiness to execute the Army's mission. In addition, I was responsible for the accountability of all the unit's vehicles and engineer assets valued in excess of $28M. In 2014, I deployed to Afghanistan for five months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

From November 2012 to November 2013, my military career began as a Soldier and I received my commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Engineer branch from Fort Benning, GA. I later completed my Engineer Basic Officer Course from Fort Leonardwood, MO in November 2013.

As a research assistant, I coordinated elderly Spanish-speaking patients to attend classes for smoking cessation and dietary management for the prevention of diabetes. The majority of patients were underserved and lacked the accessibility to readily available health information. I also served as a health educator for AmeriCorps from August 2009 to October 2010 to provide health information to Latino patients in topics such as basic prenatal care, breastfeeding, smoking cessation and diet.
