As a first-generation Vietnamese American and the eldest in my family, I’ve navigated the intersections of language, culture, and education with determination and resilience. Growing up as an English language learner, I developed a deep appreciation for education and inclusivity, which now drives my professional pursuits in TESOL and intercultural communication.With a strong academic foundation, including a focus on Spanish and Hispanic Studies as well as Asian Studies, I bring a global perspective to my work. I’m particularly passionate about fostering supportive and engaging learning environments where students feel empowered to achieve their goals. My multilingual skills in Vietnamese, English, and Spanish, combined with my lived experience as an interpreter and cultural bridge for my family, have honed my ability to communicate effectively across diverse contexts.Professionally, I have experience in teaching, curriculum development, and research, with a special interest in language acquisition and culturally responsive pedagogy. Whether supporting students academically or engaging in impactful initiatives such as my Fulbright ETA application to Peru, I am dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and empowering others through education.Outside of work, I’m an avid reader who loves photography and believes in lifelong learning and personal growth.
