In my role as an educator, I strive to help my students gain more control over their destiny— to blossom in ways that they never thought possible. I recognize how essential it is to develop meaningful relationships with my students as such connections can heavily impact achievement outcomes. I aim to promote conditions to facilitate equity, create meaningful avenues for access, and help my students transform their narratives by addressing their academic, career, and social-emotional needs through a student-centered and holistic counseling approach.I seek to champion for students whose needs are not met due to institutional and systemic failures. As a first-generation student, I understand the challenges that students may face in the realm of academia due to the limited accessibility of necessary resources; however, it has always been the American education system that has provided me with hope for a promising future. Because education has played such a significant role in my life, I aim to help students achieve their own goals and dreams through a dedication to academic success. My devotion to the education and achievements of all students and especially those from historically marginalized communities is grounded in the belief that all students should have fair opportunities and access to resources in order to be successful in their academic endeavors.
