Aquahara Technology GmbH is developing the most efficient solar dehumidifiers and solar atmospheric water generators using a concentrated salt solution that absorbs moisture and a special new type of solar thermal collector. Air conditioning uses 10 % of global electricity and causes 2 billion tons of CO2 emissions per year. Solar thermal dehumidification can reduce the electrical power needed for air conditioning by more than 50 %. Solar atmospheric water generators produce clean drinking water in a cost-effective, decentralized and environmentally safe manner. Aquahara's system will be the first to produce water below the cost of water trucking.
