I believe deeply in the power of education to enrich, liberate, and unite.Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to working to improve the education system so that all children have access to quality education that addresses the whole child. Though we are currently far from this reality, I am eager to continue to utilize my experience as an instructional leader, strategic thinker, and relationship builder to positively impact our educational system. After attending the University of Maryland and obtaining degrees in Political Science and Sociology, I began my teaching career as a Teach for America corp member in Philadelphia while earning a master’s degree in Education at the University of Pennsylvania. After years in the classroom, I transitioned to a school leader role in an effort to increase my impact. As an assistant principal, through intentional data-driven planning, team investment, and a relentless focus on improving outcomes for students, in 2019 we were awarded the highest growth in the city of Philadelphia and the highest reading proficiency in our charter network. In my most recent work as the Associate Director of Leadership Coaching and Development, I have supported school and systems leaders in cities across the United States to diagnose the state of instruction in their schools, and design and implement outcome-given strategic plans that result in measurable growth for students and educators. In this role I also lead teams to design internal and external professional learning experiences, including professional learning communities, to support educator growth and development. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, trying delicious foods, exercising, and being creative. I look forward to connecting with you!
