Microbiology Laboratory Manager, Assistant Chemistry Laboratory ManagerChemistry Lab: Maintain, operate, and repair all chemical analysis machines: ELEMENTAR vario MAX C/N, SKALAR San++, Shakers, Centrifuges, and Digesters. Prepare reagents and standards; order supplies; prepare water, soil, and manure samples and analyze for: N, NH3,Soluble P, TKN, TP. Analyze: soil, plants, seeds, manures/composts/fertilizers, for TN/TC/TOC/SOC- 2 methods. Maintain and repair lab water purification system. Prepare and perform nutrient extractions on soils, manures. Prepare reports on data derived from laboratory analysis. Maintain each field study book. Prepare Excel data bases for studies. Educate new personnel as required on lab procedures. Prepare and maintain SOP's and lab manuals. Maintain all lab computers and install updates as required. Microbiology Lab: Maintain, calibrate, and operate all lab equipment. Prepare specific media for sample analysis (Water, manure, fecal); maintain detailed lab procedure records; apply colony specific morphology for determination of bacteria type; isolate bacteria DNA for specific typing; operate several types of microscopes. Train laboratory technicians. Acquire and maintain required certifications, scientific permits, licenses.Field Work Data/Sample Collection: collect, document, transport water, soil, fecal, as instructed in methodology for each project. Prepare field reports. Calibrate, maintain, operate field analysis equipment.Meetings: prepare presentations using data collected and disseminate information to colleagues and stakeholders (clients) as requested. Proficient in Access, Excel, Adobe, Word, and PowerPoint programs.
