General Dentist, specializing in family care and well being, I havecompleted over 1300 hours of continuing dental education. Currently serving as Scientific Program Chair in the Odontology Section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences.I received an A.B. from Cornell University in 1983 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) in 1988. I achieved a certificate from the Advanced Education Program in General Dentistry from NYUCD and completed an externship at the Prince Philip Dental Hospital in Hong Kong, both in 1989. Following my residency, I was involved in delivering care in Ghana, Ecuador and Vietnam. Currently I also work as a dental consultant for the Suffolk County Office of the Medical Examiner, am an active reviewing member of the National Dental Image Repository/ CJIS-LEO under the aegis of the FBI since its inception. I have taught at NYUCD, at Stonybrook University College of Dental Medicine and at John Jay College of Criminal Justice as a guest lecturer. I have presented in NY, Minnesota, Vermont, Cologne, Germany, Kathmandu, Nepal, Lyons, France on Forensics and am a chapter co-author on Human Abuse published in, "Textbook on Forensic Odonto-Stomatology by IOFOS". I serve as a member of the Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) under the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) writing standards and a Voting Member in Forensics as part of the Odontology Sub-working Committee. I received board certification in forensic odontology in the U.S.My distinguishing hobby is as a long distance open water and cold water swimmer. In April of 2019, I became the 32nd person since 1976 to complete an unassisted (no wetsuit) crossing of the Strait of Magellan in Patagonia.
