Although I had gone to college to get into Television and Radio, I found that I really didn't enjoy the work outside of running a TV camera or taking pictures with my SLR. It was also not so easy to find a job in that field which is when I took on a secretarial position at a local travel agency. Before I knew it, I was being trained as an agent in addition to my administrative duties. Shortly thereafter, we were in the process of switching from DOS based computers to Windows. Off to training I went and came back to share my knowledge with the other agents. I love learning new skills!After almost 30 years of working on the leisure side of travel, I was hired as a corporate agent for a travel management company. This opened up a whole new world! Learning about the management side of doing travel with a call center of agents was exciting and exhausting. This position also exposed me to the likes of Concur and Conferma.Currently, I'm in the position of working with a group that encompasses not only travel management but also card and expense solutions. We can advise companies on the best options in each category. It's an exciting time to be working in the field of consulting!
