I am a Supervising Remote Pilot, with experience in pioneering first-of-their-kind unmanned aerial System projects in Central Malawi and the Rift Valley Region of Kenya as a part of the German drone manufacturer, @WINGCOPTER. I have three years of experience in the drone sector with over 600 hours operating beyond visual line of sight and have proven to be highly skilled and efficient in operations. I have experience flying 20kg to 25kg UAVs manually and beyond the visual line of sight missions to transport medical supplies, and vaccines and to collect lab samples from remote health facilities in Malawi and Kenya. Despite my high proficiency in operating drones, I have strength as a leader in ensuring compliance in all facets of setting up drone operations in different locations and a strong ability to lead an entire flight operations team. With a Bachelor's degree in Irrigation Engineering and soon a Master of Science in Digital Transformation, I have a tenacity for science, technology, and innovation as shown by my championing safe operations of drones in Malawi by advocating for compliance with civil aviation regulations, prioritizing public safety and awareness through webinars, online and in person trainings which speaks to my deep interest in the ethical use of technology and innovations specifically in the aid sector which has driven me to pursue leadership roles in the sector. Beyond my work, I am committed to fostering the next generation of engineers and scientists and have been awarded speaking engagements for the youth in both drone technology and STEM education, including encouraging secondary school girls to pursue STEM programs at University.
