The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) opened on September 24, 2016. This extraordinary museum, NMAAHC, the only one of its kind in the country, tells a more complete American story by looking at the nation’s history through an African American lens. This is a landmark effort and private support has been essential to its success. Very rarely do we have the opportunity to take part in erecting and sustaining a national treasure.
