In early 2009 I took on the additional role of Campaigns Officer - one of the legally required positions a political party is meant to have, and the one legally responsible for ensuring that party election expenditure is conducted properly, legally, and is reported to the Electoral Commission. I was elected Convenor the following year, but stood down mid-term due to some internal party issues.I also undertook other roles for my local Branch party in Edinburgh. All roles I held with the SGP were on a voluntary basis. -

In 2005 I was elected to the board by the membership of the organisation. In 2007 I was required to go for re-election under the new board structure, and was successfully re-elected for a final 3 year term. In August 2009 with regret I officially resigned from the VDS Board as a result of an ongoing dispute over my participation in conversations at Supporting Voluntary Action Think Tank events.
