I am a rising high school senior who is interested in international affairs, modern global history, and climate action. Beginning with the stories of Ancient Egyptians and fabled Burmese warriors, I have been drawn to the tales of antiquity since I was a child. As my historical lessons moved from the BCEs to the 19th century, I realized that the world is interconnected, and we, as humans, have a duty to improve and create our own history. From this realization and my own understanding that international cooperation is crucial in this globalizing world, my fascination with international affairs grew. In particular, as a citizen of Myanmar, a country most prone to climate disaster, who has experienced the impact of climate change firsthand, I believe in the importance and the responsibility to protect and preserve our planet. Besides climate change, I am interested in nation-building and international development. My dream is to use my understanding of history, international affairs, and climate action to work in the diplomatic field one day and advocate for a greener future.Aside from my intellectual and academic interests, my hobbies are art, photography, and learning new things, from languages and cultures to trivial facts. I spend my free time reading, writing, and hanging out with friends and family.
