At the beautiful site of The Abbey of Bornem, I take care of the reception, administration and events. I enjoy storytelling and provinding tours at the abbey and giving tourist information about the surroundings.Communication is the red thread as I'm also in charge of content managing our social media, creating flyers and posters niw and then and work out programs for schools.Together with my colleagues I make sure our heritage gets the attention and appreciation it deserves.At the Abbey of Bornem you will feel the connection with both history and the community.I can proudly say that every visitor leaves with a smile on their face remembering the three most imortant words: Estote invicem Benigni. A few years ago I started a new hobby: sewing. Shortly afterwards I discovered that sewing weekends were actually a thing.After attending a few, I decided to put my own organisational skills to work. Organising Sewing Weekends proved to be a fantastic outlet for me. Connecting people through sewing, making sure that up to 50 women have a wonderful time being creative together is truly the best hobby I can imaging. Although it is merely a hobby, the organisation involves a lot of administration, preparing budgets, coördinatition and people skills. Besides the biannual weekends I also organise workshops and give private sewing lessons to beginners and sewists that need some help overcoming their sewing dip.

Being a homemaker has been more than a fulltime job. Raising two gifted kids has been the common thread in my life, along with making sure everyting ran smoothly whilst my husband was traveling around the globe for his work. I have been an active mother engaging in school activities, helping out teachers (world orientation, reading, mathematics) and childminders, employed by Kind&Gezin, after school hours.When my youngest turned 13, I homeschooled him so he could skip the first grade of high school.Besides taking care of my own household, I was also caretaker of my mother who needed intensive help after a stroke. A few years later I started taking care of my father. Both my children are now teenagers attending Art School and becoming more independent. I still take care of my father.

At Proximus, a Belgian telecom company, I was employed as a Customer Service Assistant. With a few of my colleagues I was selected to strenghten the Multi Task Unit. This meant that besides inbound calls from customers and resellers, I also dealt with questions and complaints via mail and letters. I activated new subscribtions and did checks for fraude. Another task was detecting possible churn and reach out for solution in order to keep the customer satisfied. This meant outbound calls using your product knowledge and enthousiasm.To be honest the most fun part of my job was onboarding and coaching new hires.
