Pia Ocampo is the Founder of Pure Oceans - a marine conservation social innovation enterprise working with coastal & island communities to keep the Philippines' highly biodiverse reefs and seas plastic-free. 
She culls from her Design Thinking & problem-solving experience as a 20year advertising creative to help communities develop their own locally sustainable waste management systems and plastic-waste diverting livelihood enterprises - an approach that has gained support from USAID, UNDP, and WWF Philippines, among others. 
She balances Pure Oceans with her Consultancy work as Creative Director & Strategic Planner, built on her portfolio of award-winning multi-media campaigns for a variety of brands, agencies and causes - most notably Unilever Regional, FedEx Global, the Philippine Dept. of Tourism, WWF, etc.
She is co-convenor of The Hope Project, a Philippine advocacy group training Human Rights orgs in Communications Strategy & Hope-Based Narrative Change, and Creative Communications mentor in TheJustLeague - a senior talent lending bank for 4th sector enterprises. 
She is currently taking her MA in Anthropology of Global Futures and Sustainability at SOAS University of London, thanks to the IDP Impact Scholarship. She was a British Council Scholar in the Thames International Innovative & Creative Entrepreneurs (ICE) programme, part of the first cohort of the Ashoka and S&P Global Women Together for a Better Normal programme, a SEA Woman Leader for 2021, and 2018 Ars Electronica Future Innovator.
