Teacher Of Physics (Ks3, Ks4, Ks5)Whitcliffe Mount And Gorse Scitt Sep 2016 - Dec 2017Why would anyone with my background go into Teaching? Well my specific experience involves the design and physical testing of aircraft and road vehicles, along with specialist knowledge of electrical sensors, materials, motion and energy. My entire career as really been about educating, even as a sales professional the job was about listening, asking questions and gauging understanding then providing insight that added value. I took an opportunity to spend a few weeks helping out in my local high school and I really enjoyed it. I believe the enthusiasm I have for the subject and the real-world examples I can talk about has allowed me to communicate about the subject to young people with a real dedication and passion. So I took the plunge and I decided to change careers and embark on teacher training in the hope I could inspire the same passion that I have in others and make a small difference to the number of young people who choose Physics and Engineering for their future careers. If you really love your subject then teaching it is the ultimate challenge. Teaching is truly the hardest yet most rewarding job I have ever done.

Photographer/Videographer And Engineering ConsultantSelf Employed 2014 - 2016Followed a passion after so much time as an employee. I spent my weekends taking photographs and videos. A lot of late nights and early mornings in theatres and venues across the country, every weekend. Most weekdays were spent editing videos or creating fantastic promotional shots for clients. Working backstage and in my own studio I ran the business and made a living from it. It was fun! I invested a huge amount of time, money and effort and thoroughly enjoyed it.I also took some contracts as a consultant engineer / sales professional during this period.

Business DevelopmentHbm, Inc. (Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik) Aug 2008 - Apr 2013Developing business for nCodes Material Testing Division and transitioning the division from an internal cost centre to an external commercial business. Understanding, clarifying and communicating our USP's and driving new and repeat business for testing services and materials data analysis. This was a purely new business role taking on a division that was previously treated as a cost centre within product R&D and taking it into a commercial stand-alone division of the wider business. Once I was in place it became clear that the customers needed something more than just a test service but a deliverable that served their needs: I built a product that met that through the addition of analysis add-ons, allowing the lab to sell at a twice the price of incumbent competition.I operated and managed a global pipeline, via internal and external resellers, providing sales and technical support to channel whilst dealing through selected contacts in multinational partners with their pipeline and sales opportunities to leverage our offering and close business via them. Whilst dealing with global resellers and partners I also carried a direct target for sales in local markets.nCode was acquired by HBM in 2008 -
