Since 2017 (June), I held the position of the Scientific Coordinator, at the Cyprus Institute's (CyI) EnergyEnvironment Water Research Centre (EEWRC). Since 2020 (January), I was the Acting EEWRC Sci.Coord., however my main role , since September 2019 was Manager / Head of the Research-&-Innovation Support-Operations (RISO) Unit of the CyI’s Climate and Atmosphere Research Centre of Excellence (CARE C), established through the "EMME-CARE" GA.856612 funding from the European Commission’s H2020 WIDESPREAD TEAMING programme and cofunding from the Government of the Republic of Cyprus.My responsibilities included: Team leadership of the RISO (coordinating 12 Staff and supervising/co supervising 7 of those Staff; Research Management and Administration; Portfolio-Management level supervision of all the research projects, grants, tenders, services contractsand direct-assignments-by-Government of CARE C; ca. 30 Mn. since its establishment in 2019; Identification of funding opportunities at national, regional and international levels; Establishment and fostering of partnerships and networks at national and international levels; Preparation of competitive proposals for grants, tenders, and/or other specific funding schemes; Management and exploitation of Research and Innovation outputs, and Dissemination, communication and public outreach of the outputs of CARE-C and EEWRC.I also held responsibilities for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions “Fellowships”, European Research Council(ERC) Grants, Climate Action and Environment, Space, Security (and Defence), and “Widening”.Further to these, I contribute to the CyI’s activities relating to EURAXESS and Researcher Mobility Support (C&C, HRS4R, Career Development), to International Relations, to Health Safety, and to the scientific leadership by CyI of the Cyprus Climate Change Initiative of the President of the Republic of Cyprus.
