As a Civil Affairs Officer in the United States Army, I operated a team of four highly trained service members in complex environments with often little to no guidance. The job required the precise application of leadership, writing, foreign studies, negotiation skills, cross-cultural competence, adaptability, confidence, and employment of multiple foreign languages to achieve results. As a leader of a small team, I was often tasked with large initiatives, sometimes involving millions of dollars, that synchronized and coordinated multinational efforts in the realms of humanitarian aid, disaster response, and special operations.As an Army Aviation Officer with the United States Army, I operated a UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter in day, night, and adverse conditions, while leading a platoon of forty service members and ensuring the accountability of over $120 million worth of property. This job developed my technical skills in rotary winged aircraft operation, project management, and logistics, while enhancing soft skills in teamwork, discipline, patience, and diligence. I have spent time volunteering with the Aberdeen Fire Department, enhancing public speaking with Toastmasters International, and maintaining proficiency in three foreign languages. My main hobbies are hiking, running, fishing, and skiing. My goal is to continue purposeful working in a challenging environment with co-workers who inspire me to learn and grow.
