Dr. Pierre Appert is the General Manager of GSD Healthcare FZ-LLC, a company providing healthcare consulting and training based in Dubai Healthcare City. GSD Healthcare is a part of Gruppo San Donato in Italy. GSD Healthcare was created in 2015 from an initiative taken by Dr. Kamel Ghribi and Dr. Paolo Rotelli to be the first international branch of Gruppo San Donato. GSD Healthcare’s objective is to grow and expand in the Middle East through strategic development initiatives tailored to meet the needs of the region, and through sharing the knowledge and experiences gained by Gruppo San Donato over the last 60 years. Before joining GSD Healthcare in 2017, Dr. Pierre Appert worked in a reputable law firm in Hong Kong with Ginestie Magellan Paley-Vincent and in Monaco with Gowling WLG, providing legal advice for the business development of well-established French luxury brands and start-ups. He also gained extensive experience in corporate governance forge at the World Disney Company and in merger and acquisition working at the PDGB law firm. All those previous experiences have been put at the service of GSD Healthcare’s growth in the Middle Eastern market, achieving an annual double-digit growth for the company since Dr. Appert’s arrival.The five axes of GSD Healthcare’s development are the consultancy, training, education and research, international patient assistance, hospital management, and hospital operation. To date, the company successfully delivered national policy consultancy, knowledge transfer to more than 3,500 doctors and nurses through tailor-made specialty training, accommodated 50 international patients for treatment not available in their home country, and participated in numerous public, private partnerships for the management and operation of public services or hospitals.
