I have been teaching for 15 years. I wrote my Ph. D. thesis on Germany and its economy in the European Union. My research focused on Angela Merkel and the German conservatives. Currently, I am involved in an ambitious post-doctoral project on the relations between nations and globalization from the 19th century to the present. I also organized an international symposium on religions in international relations. My personal interests span various topics including religion, international relations, economics, Islam, Arab culture, and Iran. On the political front, I advocate for the old ideals of the Enlightenment: freedom, democracy, and science.
