During my internship with the sawmills division of J.D. Irving, I worked on various maintenance optimization projects in several sawmills. I also got to design a few mechanical systems to remedy issues/bottlenecks. Finally, I coordinated outsourced projects with specialized consulting firms. Additionally, I got the opportunity to complete my Six Sigma Yellow belt by presenting my Preventative Maintenance Optimization (PMO) of a saw line.

Kedgwick, New Brunswick, Canada

During my work term at J.D. Irving Kedgwick Sawmill, I implemented the in-operation preventive maintenance inspections with DMSI (Maintelligence), working alongside the staff maintenance and the millwrights. I also helped with the Bill of Materials (BOM) for all the new equipment in the mill.

St Leonard, New Brunswick, Canada

During my internship at JDI St-Leonard Sawmill, the highest-producing lumber mill in eastern Canada, I oversaw the proposal of a new machine that would improve the mill's recovery by modifying rejected raw materials. This proposal included the design of a structure to support the equipment, logical placement, price breakdowns & presentations to corporate-level professionals. I also assisted in the daily operations of mechanical maintenance.
