The Australian Sporting Alliance for People with a Disability (ASAPD) collaborates, advocates, and facilitates inclusive sport and physical activity for people with a disability, impairment, or limitation. The 8 member NSOD’s represent lead organisations whose participant numbers, members and volunteers involve millions of people across Australia.

Special Olympics Australia provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for people with intellectual disabilities, helping them live an active, healthy and fulfilling life. As CEO, Pierre works closely with the board and provides overall leadership and direction to 6 state committees, 45 clubs, 1200 volunteers, 3300 athletes, and 40,000 participants. He oversees a $4M annual budget ($8M in a National Games year) and executes the strategic plan. In his tenure, highlights include:• Safely returned over 3200 athletes to weekly training and competition following COVID shutdowns• Delivered the 2022 National Games in Launceston ($4M budget, 750+ athletes, 400+ volunteers)• Sent Team Australia to 2023 World Games in Berlin ($0.8M budget, 64 athletes, 23 volunteers) • Secured over $1.7M in new federal grants to develop Unified Sports and Young Athletes programs• Delivered Inclusive Sport in Schools in NSW ($1.4M budget, 410 programs, 20K students)• Expanded Inclusive Sport in Schools to VIC and QLD ($0.7M budget, 240 programs, 10K students)• Signed partnership agreements with 10 National Sporting Organisations• Signed national partnership with Law Enforcement Torch Run programs (to raise >$800Kpa)• Launched and commercialised an online learning platform - Inclusive Sport Academy (10,000 users)• Developed and launched a new 2024-2028 Strategic Plan

Designed, developed and commenced delivery of the new Inclusive Sport in Schools program to increase physical activity and improve physical literacy of students with intellectual disability and autism in NSW. This included oversight of new online learning courses, coach delivery resources, and partnerships with national sporting organisations and peak education bodies. • Budget $1.4M over 2 years• Reach: 286 schools, 410 programs, 20K students

As Executive Chair, Pierre provides strategic leadership to the board of directors and management team, coupled with subject matter expertise on physical literacy and physical activity policy in the context of sport, health and education. This enables Bluearth's approach to active living that goes beyond traditional sport and education models by activating a philosophy of positive participation experiences to develop skills and motivation that embeds lifelong healthy habits, particularly in children and youth.

The Physical Literacy SIG provides a platform to enable continued discussion and leadership across academia, policy and practice for the purpose of furthering research, disseminating information, developing resources and sharing best practice as it relates to physical literacy. A core philosophy of this SIG is supporting collaboration throughout Australasia that translates research and activates approaches with a particular focus across sport, health and education.

As Director, Pierre was responsible for leading the physical literacy agenda in Australia and setting the strategic direction to drive research, implementation and measurement aligned to the national sports plan, Sport 2030. His team was the unifying force to lead and influence national sport and physical activity policy across sport, health and education in a deliberate effort to get more Australians moving more often.His team, supported by leading academics, delivered:• The Australian Physical Literacy Framework – revered today as world leading.• The ASC’s Position Statement on Physical Literacy – endorsed by 60 national organisations and peak bodies.• The evolution of the $40M Sporting Schools program – encompassing a new whole school approach.• A suite of resources for the sport and education sectors to activate a physical literacy approach.• Keynote and Feature Presentations at a dozen leading industry conferences – aligning the system.

As Director, Pierre was responsible for leading national participation growth in sport and physical activity through a network of 45 recognised national sporting organisations (NSOs). His team supported the development of NSO participation strategies and provided daily expertise and guidance on matters of sport participation.Achievements include:• Developed and administered the $29M Move It AUS Participation grant program.• Developed and administered the $23M Move It AUS Better Ageing grant program.• Administered the ASC’s $19M annual participation investment budget.• Undertook annual sport performance reviews with 45 NSOs.• Fostered sector collaboration and managed sector-wide capability building projects.

As a senior leader, Pierre was responsible for the engagement and collaboration with partner NSOs to achieve agreed performance targets and outcomes aligned to their participation plans and capability framework. He supported NSOs to prepare for and successfully deliver within the $40M Sporting Schools program. His specialty areas of support included: • School engagement strategies• Junior product development and delivery.• Workforce (coach) training and development.• Integrity and Safeguarding frameworks, policies and guidelines.• Development of the Sporting Schools NSO Capability Framework and Admission Criteria.• Chairing the Sporting Schools NSO Reference Group.• Leadership of the NSO Heads of Game Development Network.

As Regional Manager, Pierre led a team of 14 Regional Coordinators to administer the Active After-school Communities (AASC) program across Greater Sydney. The team delivered social impact via sport and physical activity programs in primary schools and out-of-school-hours care centres via a network of community coaches, local clubs, and private coaching providers. Key highlights included:• 378 school and OSHCS sites across Greater Sydney.• $3M grant budget administered twice a year.As the Acting State Operations Manager for the final 6 months, Pierre was responsible for provision of expert strategic and analytical advice and preparation, implementation, and review of the state operational plan for the AASC program. He also managed the program closure and transition to the new Sporting Schools program for all NSW schools.Key highlights included:• 1100 school and OSHC sites across NSW/ACT.• $9M grant budget administered twice a year.• Wind up of AASC program operations and transition to Sporting Schools program.

Pierre was responsible for increasing the participation of children aged 5-12yrs in all forms of Rugby League by implementing junior development programs throughout local primary schools and junior clubs, as well as coordinating gala days and competitions to ensure district representation at all NSWRL competitions. He worked closely with the Wests Tigers players and introduced the Brett Hodgson Shield and the Andrew Leeds Carnivals.

Pierre led a team of 6 development officers to plan, deliver and review all forms of AFL Auskick and junior footy programs in schools and at club and community level to achieve growth and development of AFL across Greater Western Sydney. He was part of the team responsible for developing the 10-year plan to introduce a second AFL team in Sydney (now the GWS Giants).

Pierre provided administrative assistance to the compliance team in the athletic department, assisting with matters relating to athlete wellbeing and sport team’s compliance in the prestigious Ivy League. Pierre also supported coordination of half-time entertainment and delivered general match day support at basketball and ice-hockey home games.
