Detective Sergeant in Digital Forensics Unit/Forensics Video Analysis Unit, Cyber Operations Section, Investigation and Support Bureau.Digital Forensics (DF) provides innovative specialized investigative services to O.P.P. members, Ontario municipal police services and government ministries dealing with investigations involving digital evidence.DF employs Civilian (Special Constables) and Uniform Forensic Analysts who assist with the identification, preservation, forensic recovery, analysis and interpretation of digital data derived from an electronic device whether stored locally or in the cloud.Digital Forensics actively supports field requests such as assisting in the execution of search authorities, the on scene preview of digital evidence, and provides training and education sessions to front line members.The Forensic Video Analysis Unit (FVAU) provides comprehensive and specialized investigative services to O.P.P. members, Ontario municipal police services and government ministries dealing with investigations involving video evidence.All members of the FVAU hold Certification in the field of Forensic Video Analysis and continually update their training and knowledge in this ever changing field.The OPP was one of the first law enforcement agencies to provide this service in Canada and have done so since the early 1990s when the technology was in its infancy.

OPP Provincial Operations Centre acts as an information conduit providing situational reports of major incidents that occur throughout the province to OPP Command Staff. The POC Inspector and Sergeant monitor all the calls for service throughout the province in order to maintain a high level of situational awareness and to provide operational oversight to members in the field.It is also the point of contact when requesting provincial resources i.e. CIB, Aviation Services, Tactics and Rescue Team, SIU, etc, and broadcasts all Ontario AMBER Alerts.
