Pierre Luus is a Systems Engineer who leads a team that offers expertise in the integration of complex products and systems offered to clients in the field of Spectrum Dominance.He obtained a B.Eng (Electronic) degree at the University of Pretoria and started his career in the research and development (R&D) environment at Transnet Engineering. He managed multiple electric locomotive projects for the rolling stock industry. He led a diverse team of engineers that delivered and established fleet management systems consisting of remote diagnostic tools for technical and servicing staff, and user interfaces that run on back-end services and networks for nationwide use by management.In joint venture with the CSIR, Pierre had the privilege to manage and deliver on multiple projects under the scope of Transnet's multi-billion Rand Trans-Africa Locomotive programme, one of which was the conceptualisation of an eco-system for information flow in the African freight haul space.During his time at Transnet, he obtained a B.Eng Hons (Management of Technologies) degree at the University of Pretoria, and has attended various management and development courses, most notably Systems Engineering courses at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and Project Performance International.After moving his R&D focus to the Electronic Warfare industry at GEW Technologies (business unit of HENSOLDT South Africa), he developed and produced a portfolio of radio frequency antenna & signal distribution units for COMINT, COMMS jamming and RCIED jamming solutions. He developed a down-conversion subsystem that can be used with super high frequency (SHF) antennas, and led the production of several SHF omni-directional antennas that implements this subsystem. He managed the production of multi-client Direction Finding (DF) systems unparalleled in detection performance.Pierre is productively involved in continuously integrating company process improvements. He developed various families of powerful narrow- and wideband HF, V/UHF and C band (superheterodyne receiver) SDR channels allowing multi-role system implementations.
