I was professor at the University of Toulon and the University of Nîmes since 2008.My research focuses on phase transitions in dielectrics, on ferroelectric materials and more generally ferroic materials, thin films, and nanostructures.

The SUPCA project was a "FSP" project of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aiming at supporting higher education and research at the University of Bangui. We were able to set up 8 masters, professional bachelors, and research labs that showed the sustainability of the actions by continuing to function until today.

Implementation of institutional reforms within the Ministry in Bangui, in close consultation with ministers and the Cabinet. Introduction of the "LMD" system (Bachelor, Master, doctorate) and corresponding texts (ministerial decisions), in particular those concerning doctorates and authorizations to conduct research.

Research on ferroic materials (ferroelastics, ferroelectrics, magnets), incommensurate phases, phase transitions, etc.

In this period, I continued working on theoretical aspects of incommensurate phases, and we initiated, with my togolese colleagues, a project supported by '"AUPELF" (nowadays AUF). This allowed to start an activity on materials in the University of Lomé.
