As a PDF in the Angers laboratory, I am using proteomics approaches (metal affinity oxide chromatography and label-free LC-MS/MS) to investigate the phosphoproteome of Frizzled (FZD) receptors as targets for endothelial barrier maintenance. My research currently focuses on a FZD receptor which we believe is an exciting therapeutic target for pathologies such as retinopathy and stroke.

As a limited-duties assistant professor, my role is to coordinate and deliver the second year introduction to human physiology course, PHYS 2130. My responsibilities include setup and maintain the course OWL (learning management system) site using pre-existing course content, monitoring discussion forums and responding to student questions on forums, e-mail, and in person (where applicable); supervising graduate student teaching assistant(s) assigned to the course; creating, writing, and administration of online quizzes, in-class/online exams, and make-up exams; assisting with the coordination of exams for distance sites, and for students who require special exams (work with Western’s Distance Studies office and Accommodated Exams); and compilation, adjudication and submission of course grades.

Teaching assistant for MedScien 4931G Selected Topics in Medical Sciences (Fourth Year). The BSc. Medical Science is an undergraduate degree offered jointly by the Faculty of Science and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Responsibilities included assisting Dr. Nicole Campbell in designing and preparing online learning management system course site, generation of tutorial materials, monitoring online forums, creating and posting weekly quizzes, recording weekly tutorial videos, and marking assignments (annotated bibliography, VoiceThread presentations, and literature review).

Member of the Grad Club committee, a sub-committee of the Portfolio of the VP Finance (Society of Graduate Students; SOGS) at Western University. This committee is responsible to oversee the operations of the Grad Club, an on campus faculty and graduate student pub designed to celebrate academic success and facilitate collaboration. This is the campus' only not for profit pub and is a hotspot for faculty and graduate students to meet and discuss their progress. The Grad Club committee is under the Portfolio of the VP Finance and as such plays a role in developing and reviewing annual budgets, operational plans and managing revenue over $1M

In-person tutorial lecturer for PHYS1020 Physiology for Nursing Majors (1st year course). Prepared and presented four 1 hour lecture-style tutorials to approx. 250 students weekly to compliment the online lectures of Dr. Christine Bell.
