As a member of the executive team for this information technology services company, I worked to refine our business plan, develop our organization structure, and build the required human capital and infrastructure. I played a major role in growing the company from two employees with no revenue, to 250 employees nationally with $67 million in revenues. Responsibilities included; Human Resources, Risk Management, Procurement, Facilities, Security and Safety. Responsibilities included managing 14 personnel, a $5.2MM expense budget and a $1.7MM capital budget. In part, because of effective organization development, in 14 months we went from business plan to production. Saved MedUnite $1.5 million by reducing HR and administrative operating expenses 28%

    Reporting to the President, ARCO Latin America, I had Vice President level responsibilities for starting up and managing the strategic and tactical Human Resources and Administrative functions for ARCO Latin America (ALA). Responsibilities included; HR’s strategic plan development and implementation, management consulting, organization & employee development, change management, succession planning, staffing, compensation, benefits, facilities, risk management, and broadly identifying and successfully developing HR solutions for our Company’s business issues which included expatriate repatriation, national employee selection and development, long-range planning and infrastructure development in seven countries. I was also a member of the International Strategic HR Council that develops strategic direction and tactics for Atlantic Richfield Company’s international operations worldwide. Headquartered in Caracas, Venezuela, ARCO Latin America included South and Central America, and Trinidad & Tobago. We had offices in 7 countries in the region. ALA had a single enterprise approach with responsibility for oil & gas exploration, production, refining & marketing, and power plant development. We made a $3.5 billion capital commitment to the region and grew from 20 employees in April 1997, to 600 employees and 500 contractors by year-end 1998. Along the way, we became Venezuela’s largest foreign investors in a highly competitive oil & gas market. With a staff of 23, in addition to managing general services and administration, I managed 5 payrolls, 9 compensation systems & benefit plans, 15 union contracts, 8 different national labor laws, 8 cultures speaking 3 different languages, and a $6.75MM budget. All of these business systems and processes were developed and implemented since January 1997.
