Marketing Content Manager
CurrentNomad Education is a is a pioneer in ed-tech; producing applications to support French students. Over 1 million students in France and French-speaking African countries have registered in our apps. My responsibilities include:• Planning and implementing our Inbound Marketing Strategy (Content Creation, SEO, SMO, Mailing, Landing Pages, Automation, etc.) • Overseeing user acquisition (SEA, Social Media Acquisition, Ad Networks, etc.) • Implementing and managing marketing and product tools (BI, product analytics, CRM support, etc.) I joined Nomad Education during a difficult period for the company. Due to management changes, I became the most senior member in the marketing department just three months after my arrival. Despite this, I have been able to bolster Nomad's marketing efforts. I have diversified our Adwords Campaigns, crafted a social media style guide, and kept an eye on the big picture. The result has been the acquisition of over 350,000 new users since my hiring.
Teacher & Counselor: Preparing Students For International University Applications
Ashinaga Uganda is a Japanese-based NGO funding the education of orphaned students from Sub-Saharan Africa. I was hired to contribute the university preparation of Ashinaga Scholars. To that end, I designed and taught courses in International Relations, Career Development, and English to up to 25 Ashinaga Scholars; acted as a college counselor for students bound to Japan and the United States; and consulted with Ashinaga Uganda to increase inter-office communication. I sought to take full advantage of my months in Uganda. The students and interns offered a wildly diverse cross-section of backgrounds and ideas. We learned from each other through discussions, through arguments, and through stories. I am beyond grateful for that opportunity.
President And Founder Of Ashinaga'S First Student Subdivision
Following an internship with Ashinaga in Tokyo, I was selected to start their first student subdivision: McGill Students for Ashinaga. This was a particular challenge, for Ashinaga was unknown in North America. I was responsible for communicating the brand across cultural lines, building an emotional connection to attract members, and connecting Ashinaga with local NGOs across Montreal. Running MSfA enhanced my leadership and my organizational abilities. Whether planning and running weekly meetings, fundraising for events, or executing marketing strategies, I was consistently challenged and forced to work creatively. The efforts were successful, however, as we gained 7 executives, 32 members and 331 Facebook followers through outreach online and on campus. I am proud to report that MSfA will continue following my graduation.
Marketing Intern - Planned And Implemented Ashinaga'S Student Ambassador Program.
Ashinaga is a Japanese NGO providing education and support for orphaned students worldwide. I was hired by the organization during a year abroad in Tokyo. My internship began with a focus on Marketing, and I conducted research and analysis on the Canadian Market to support the development of Ashinaga's Market Strategy for Canada. I was eager to learn as much as I could from Ashinaga, however, and my work ethic stood out. Not long into my Internship, I was offered the role of Student Ambassador. Alongside my mentors in the organization, I contributed to the planning of the fledgling initiative. Further, I participated in a Leadership Training Course focused on organizational leadership and relationship building. Working with Ashinaga, I was called upon to engage cross-culturally with delegates from Japan, Senegal, Uganda, England, Poland, etc. to set goals for Ashinaga's first student chapters. It was my first truly international work experience. I was moved by the human elements of Ashinaga. I participated in Tsudois, camps bringing together orphaned students, and forged enduring friendships. Ashinaga is doing important work, and I am proud to have been a part of it.
Head Of Marketing
Word and Colour is a website confronting oppression through fiction inspired by art. I began as an intern at the start-up, and sought to integrate our mission into the vibrant world of Montreal art. Working closely with the Editor, I requested increasing responsibility. Eventually, I was promoted to Head of Marketing. As Head of Marketing, I directed both the creative and technical elements of marketing initiatives including social media marketing, brand creation, advertising, partner cultivation, and hiring. My efforts resulted in an increase in monthly viewership of 177% (1,751 individual viewers). A recommendation from W&Cs editor on my LinkedIn specifically commends my superior organizational and marketing skills.
