At Premier my most recent project involved working in a team to develop a new version of a softwaretool called EPIC that gathers information from State Voter Registration Systems, State ElectionManagement databases, and individual counties, and transforms this information into a database formatsuitable for use in an Electronic Pollbook. This effort has been conducted using the SCRUMmethodology using C#, .Net 3.5 and ADO.NET, as well as the SQL Server and SQLite databaseengines.I also worked on the BallotStation touchscreen voting machine and the AVOSX optical scan machine,using embedded C++ development tools to develop high quality and high security software to be usedin elections in the United States. With these systems I worked to get them ready to be certified by the EAC), including code compliance, quality compliance,and assisting in making trusted, digitally signed builds of these products (and all products in the Assure1.2 suite.) In addition I worked on the BallotStation touchscreen voting machine to get it ready forcertification in Japan, which was ultimately successful.

I worked on the eVisionFactory software product, which provides programmable vision solutions forVision Guided Robotics. Using C++, COM, and the Win32 API, I designed new features andcomponents, I maintained existing functionality, and I supported deployment of the eVF software. Myresponsibilities included: collecting and writing requirements for new functionality, designing newfeatures and components, developing and maintaining the software infrastructure that other developersused, and working as part of a focus group to improve the software development, QA and deploymentprocess.

I developed Transaction Processing software to audit Lottery games and online financial transactions(ticket purchase, winner payouts, etc.) using C++ and MFC. Working from specifications from theLottery vendors and also from Lottery Corporations, I developed software that, independently, ranreports to determine what the financial results were for each different lottery game every day. I alsoworked, on contract, with GTECH Inc. to test all the backend and terminal software for the onlinelottery system for the State of Michigan. My responsibilities included: working with Lottery vendorsand Lottery Corporations to develop requirements specifications for each Lottery; I designed,developed, maintained, and supported Integrity software deployed internationally using C++ and MFC;worked with customers on-site to integrate Integrity software with the Lottery vendor and LotteryCorporation infrastructure, and to provide training to end users.

I developed and maintained database schema, on Microsoft SQL Server, for an online real estate searchengine (now mls.ca); I developed and maintained database SQL stored procedures. I wrote scripts toensure correctness and format of customer data, from real estate boards, before importation into thedatabase; I wrote scripts and procedures to automate backup and restore of the database system, as wellas to mimic what is now database replication

As an Internship while working on my degree, my responsibilities included: developing software inC++ and SmallTalk to support an Object Oriented Database data collection system, providing softwareand hardware support to manufacturing lines, and maintaining OS/2 based data collection system toensure high quality manufacturing processes.
