● Contributing to academic projects on emerging technologies with biopolymers: co-supervision, process scale-up, marketing fact sheet, business model.● Providing information overview on bioplastics, plastic recyclability.A new method has been developed in collaboration with Prof. Virgilio’s group, Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal, to prepare microstructured porous gels with fully interconnected pores. The average pore size can be tuned over a considerable range, from about 1 micron to 1000 microns.

● Evaluated work claimed by companies to determine whether they meet the definition of Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED).● Met the companies to explain the eligibility criteria of the SR&ED program.● Attended conferences and exhibitions to represent SR&ED program.

● Managed the R&D team comprising Ph.D. scientists, research assistants, technicians and student-engineers. Contribute to the decisions taken by the Management team.● Organized work for the team and set priorities, manage project dashboard, report the project progresses to the partners and the Management team, lead meetings.● Developed projects as R&D Project Leader.

● Prepared the project charter, evaluated technology by means of the scientific literature, existing patents, applicable regulatory requirements and sustainability.● Developed the technology (formulation/process): carried out lab scale trials, industrial trials at the customer facilities and developed product characterization methods. Used Stage-Gate process with some customers as appropriate.● Identified potential intellectual property and co-wrote the documents: patent applications, declaration or opinion letters and responses to the office actions issued by the patent offices, Freedom to Operate analysis (FTO) for the customers.● Initiated the development of new research projects.2009-2016: Our main contributions stem from our technological development for Teknor Apex Co., Bioplastics Division. These contributions encompass the field of flexible barrier packaging and food packaging. We essentially develop compounds with thermoplastic starch (TPS) and with bioplastics such as polylactic acid (PLA), polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) and compostable copolyesters.

● Developed the Thermoplastic Starch (TPS) technology for commercial applications and for licensing purposes.● Evaluated the environmental benefits of TPS technology for the SDTC program (Sustainable Development Technology Canada) from 2006 to 2008.● Developed standard test methods for characterization & processes, provided opinion for patent follow-up.Research & Development in the Bioplastics Formulations - Functional, Cost-effective, Sustainable, Biodegradable/Compostable, Recyclable and Durable Applications.
