Notable Achievements:Community Vision for the Old Footscray Hospital SiteLed team of volunteers to develop a community vision for the future of Old Footscray Hospital site. Three public consultation sessions attracted 160 respondents with 2000+ points of feedback captured. Developed a vision for the site in conjunction with an architect, which we used to brief Maribyrnong Council.Most aspects of the community's vision were adopted by Maribyrnong Council in their approved advocacy plan, including the creation of a 3.5ha park, 3-8 story buildings with 30% of dwellings reserved for social housing. VCAT Case against Woolworths:Represented 40 residents at VCAT against Fabcot's proposed shopping centre & Woolworths in Barkly StSubmission highlighted issues with abolished protected bike lanes, narrow footpaths, additional vehicle traffic & adverse economic impacts to the WeFo village.Partly, in response Fabcot updated their plans to create 30cm of extra space on northern footpath.Attended VCAT hearing, sat at bar table, cross-examined witnesses and presented my own expert witness on bike safety.Summerhill Road Pedestrian Crossing:Successfully door-knocked and petitioned for a pedestrian crossing at the site of the Lions community housing. Pedestrian crossing due to be constructed in 2025.MATAC (Maribyrnong Active Transport Advisory Committee) Committee member of MATAC since 2023, representing road safety concerns of Bluestone (West Footscray & Tottenham) residents.West Footscray Village Walking Tours:Organised & led 3 walking tours of WeFo village to coincide with Council's Streetscape improvement plan.The tours lead to a threefold increase in participation at Council's consultation.Graham Street Native Gardens:Worked with neighbours to prevent Council from opening a street to through traffic & bulldozing a pocket park.Subsequently, neighbours planted indigenous vegetation nature strips in the street to beautify the area.

BikeWest is a volunteer run organisation that advocates for increased cycling uptake in the west of Melbourne, with a strong focus on safe cycling infrastructure. Notable roles at BikeWest:Critical Mass OrganizerRelaunched monthly Critical Mass protest rides in Melbourne, calling for safe cycling infrastructure.Notable successes include leading 250 riders to Footscray which assisted in DTP agreeing to a reduction in the speed limit of Hopkins Street from 60 to 40km/hWith respect & sympathy to the friends & family of Frances Jeyann Ramirez, 22, killed on Hopkins Street in 2023Campaigner for safety enhancements to Dynon & Footscray RoadsMaintained an advocacy campaign to secure safety enhancements on the two key routes from the West to the Melbourne.With respect & sympathy to the friends & family of Angus Collins, 22 who was killed on Footscray Road in 2023With respect & well wishes to *name withheld*, who was seriously injured on Dynon Road in 2024
