Assigned to the Go Live green field project, I was responsible for setting up and implementing the total outbound functional process and staffing structure, for a new 60,000 m2 distribution facility.• Designed the description of operations • Set up all standard operations procedures• Drew up a detailed Outbound Processes Playbook • Set up the resource structure• Provided training to all staff in outbound roles• Conducted functional and operational testing of the warehouse management system• Set up distribution load-out processes within the facility • Set up brand new international distribution processes from the new facility

Responsible for all inbound, fulfillment, and courier outbound processes, for five trading divisions, namely Mr Price, Mr Price Home, Mr Price Sport, Sheet Street and Milady’s.• Managed Mr Price’s countrywide distribution network in collaboration with a 3PL partner, City Logistics, reporting directly to my portfolio• Led my direct reports, including the Inbound Manager, Fulfillment Manager, Inventory Manager, HR Manager, and Finance Manager• High level management of a staff complement comprising between 300-400, dependent on seasonal fluctuations• Implemented the new Highjump warehouse management system in 2010• Implemented the Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) racking facility, accommodating 6,000 pallet locations, and dramatically increasing space utilisation• Implemented the international racking facility and process layout, accommodating 3,500 pallet locations• Reconfigured the layout of inbound conveyor, achieving 150% capacity improvement on inbound production• Increased pick capacity by 40% by upgrading the facility and improving efficiencies• Improved location capacity by 15-20% through storage medium profiling, to optimise location utilisation• Implemented both SOS and OS Bond stores, enabling the storage of goods without the importer having to pay duties and taxes• Migrated Sheet Street into the Distribution Centre, improving deliveries to stores from 4,5 days to 3,1 days • Reduced lead time to stores, and distribution network cost, by enabling regional suppliers to deliver selected orders to depots in the same region• Achieved an annual saving equivalent to NZ$1.5 million on line haul costs, by shipping directly to superstores• Implemented an E-commerce system through 3PL and volumetric item fulfilment from the Distribution Centre, by establishing fulfillment facilities for Mr Price Home and Sheet Street, and appointing service providers for customer deliveries and returnsPlease see my CV for more detail on my responsibilities.
