I'll always be thankful for the opportunities Toyota presented to me. I couldn't have asked for a better foundation to kick-start my professional career.Toyota permanently employed me, as an energy specialist, in the environmental engineering department. I was part of a five-member team tasked with managing the plant’s energy consumption. We were also responsible for analyzing and developing a roadmap to be implemented in order to achieve a ‘plant zero CO2 emission’ status by the year 2050.I have a systems approach to thinking and this unearthed an interest in understanding the holistic integration and functioning of all the different business units that make up an entire organisation. Responding to this newly found interest I completed a post graduate diploma in business management and then also passed the Association of Energy Engineers' CEM® certification examination.My main responsibilities were to:• Identify, develop, implement, measure and verify energy reduction projects and share knowledge• Measure, verify and reduce weekend energy consumption• Conduct feasibility studies on new energy efficient technologies• Develop and complete regular utility reports and develop annual energy budgets• Maintain and improve energy metering systems• Support the realisation of the 2050 zero CO2 plant emission targetI'll be happy to share supporting documents of completed projects/work upon request.

Performed tyre pressure calculations and constructed a new database for this purpose; Large savings can be realized through optimizing tyre lifetime. Instructed to do brake tests on most of the Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Bell loaders, dozers, and graders in order to assign a standard brake ratio to obtain for passing the monthly brake tests. Helped with the design of a new tyre bay using AutoCAD. Wrote formal reports concerning all projects using Latex and attended various meetings with the chief engineer.
