The company Veevoeders A. Laroy nv wants to automatize its supply of raw materials. In order to achieve this, the company has made an appeal to the companies E.I.V. bvba and Promatic-B nv. The current state of the installation, which is not optimal for Tracking and Tracing purposes, gave rise to the appeal for automatization. At present, the company’s transport of raw materials is regulated partly manually and partly automatically.In order to complete this task successfully two points call for specific attention. First of all, available data on the installation that is to be automatized is scarce. Consequently, the entire installation needs to be analyzed and described in detail before one can start off with the automatization itself. Secondly, the conversion from the former production process into the new one can only take a few days time. Thus, timing, planning and flexibility are essential in the preparatory stages of this project.
