Responsible for establishing a product engineering capability for USNC's advanced reactor and forming an integrated product team to develop, test, procure, manufacture and produce standard advanced reactors to projects. Manage the group of advanced reactor subject matter experts to support the development efforts. Lead systems engineer on innovative advanced reactor project.

Lead the team developing the Micro Modular Reactor technology.• Developed a plant parameter envelope for the standard product that was used successfully in the environmental impact assessment for a project in Canada. This enabled the project EA to proceed in parallel with the MMR design.• Selected and implemented a product lifecycle management system. Ran a selection process to select a suitable PLM system for the development of the MMR. Teamcenter from Siemens was selected and implemented to provide an integrated platform to manage the product data across the entire product lifecycle.• Selected and implemented lifecycle processes in the integrated management system. Selected ISO 15288 as the state-of-the-art standard for lifecycle processes and implemented the processes in the integrated management system, including developing policies, procedures and work instructions necessary for the MMR development using Teamcenter.• Developed and implemented a technical publication system for MMR. Worked with a team to design and configure a technical publication system that can be used to publish MMR System Design Descriptions and Safety Analysis Reports from a single topic based source of truth. This eliminates potential discrepancies between design control documents as the design changes.

Lead the team developing the Nuclear Heat Supply System of the Micro Modular Reactor (MMR).• Lead the team that developed the concept and preliminary design of the systems and components of the Nuclear Heat Supply System, together with the suppliers. Where suppliers did not exist, we developed equipment and testing to satisfy design requirements.• Worked with partners across the globe that developed the core design, system designs, and plant designs.• Engaged with nuclear regulator on the safety concept and design of the MMR through Vendor Design Reviews in Canada.

I participated in missions to IAEA membership as an HTGR expert to advise on the technology, regulations and standards, to review technical and technology aspects, and to review designs and component selections.

Member of the board to establish a new nuclear owner and operator company of micro reactors in Canada. Supported the development of a demonstration project using the MMR from USNC in Canada.

Leading the multi-disciplinary design team developing the core structures for the PBMR design including the development of simulation techniques, material development and specifications. This team established the core technology of PBMR and formed the nucleus of PBMR’s intellectual property.
