Contributing to the Impact Evaluation of World Bank-funded agricultural projects in Kenya, mainly related to the use of technologies to increase agricultural productivity and climate change adaptation.Main tasks:• Contributing to the design of experimental and quasi-experimental studies, including conducting literature reviews, carrying out power calculations, and defining sampling frames.• Engaging with government, World Bank, and private sector partners.• Monitoring data collection: design data quality checks, backchecks, audio audits.• Designing agricultural households surveys and selecting key indicators.• Conducting descriptive and regression analysis in STATA.• Dissemination of research results.Accomplishments:• Contributing to a study on demand for rain-index insurance, its determinants, and its effects in rural Kenya.• Established relationships with World Bank Operations teams, Tegemeo Research Institute, Wageningen University researchers, and private sector partners such as AcreAfrica, to generate research opportunities.• Conducting data analysis to understand the dynamic effects in food security of a World Food Program cash-for-work project in Rwanda.• Contributing to the organization of an online Impact Evaluation Workshop in Burkina Faso (May and June 2021).• Technical contribution to other World Bank studies: mapping villages in R to identify refugee populations in Niger, webscrapping in R to study supermarket chain expansion in rural areas in Kenya.
