During this ten-week intensive research experience, the STEM Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program I had the opportunity to be mentored by Texas State faculty in the College of Science and Engineering. Researching how local anthropogenic factors impact stream fish communities due to urbanization in the Austin, TX area. We investigated how reproductive investment and body condition in Female Gambusia Affinis compared in local and urban environments. Research findings were presented to Biology and Chemistry faculty, staff, and fellow research students at Texas State University.

During this internship I assessed coral reef fish populations and community changes in response to environmental stressors of potassium cyanide fishing practices and its damages to the Bali Sea coral reef ecosystem.
