Tong is the founder of ThrottleUp Creation, a drone company focusing on drone & FPV video productions, drone academy, and R&D on UAV applications. He holds a UAPL (unmanned aircraft pilot license) & UOP (Unmanned aircraft Operation Permit) issued by CAAS. He teaches drone piloting at SMU as an affiliated faculty, and is also an ACLP certified adult educator & MOE registered instructor for CCA/Clubs & Societies (Robotic), coaching the next generations of drone pilots in racing and Air-sports. Tong specialises in FPV (first person view) cinematic filming indoors, outdoors, and close proximity flights. Notable clients includes Marina Bay Sands, Capitaland, Propnex, Millenia Walk, DownTown Gallery, Civil Service Club, ArtBox, and Design Orchard. Tong is also certified to fly drones in Switzerland (Europe) and Japan where he create FPV videos for tourism and hotels. In 2023, Tong is part of the Drone Soccer Team Singapore, where they represented Singapore to compete in the international drone soccer championship held in Incheon, South Korea. In 2024, ThrottleUp Creation embarks on R&D projects on UAV applications with local research institutions.Tong believes in an educational and entertaining approach in drone flying, where participants learn the basics of drones in a systematic, safe, and progressive program, while enjoy the journey to becoming a competent drone pilot.
