Served as an Advisor and Instructor Pilot, attached to the 438th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group, Train-Advise-Assist-Command- Air (USAF), responsible for training and evaluating pilots assigned to the Afghan Air Force Kabul Wing 377th Squadron, in the tactical and operational planning, execution, management, and employment of scout/attack helicopters. Key contributions:• Successfully guided the squadron’s progression from a fledgling scout/attack organization, to one that receives daily missions requiring the full-spectrum of combat attack, security, and reconnaissance aviation support.• Trained the first 20 Afghan scout pilots to become qualified, and the first 10 aircraft commanders (PCs), instrumental to the country’s first successful employment of military scout/attack aviation support capabilities.• Mentored and personally taught 6 Afghan IPs on the establishment, maintenance, and sustainment of a robust Aircrew Training Program, whose support reaches across the entire Afghan National Army.• Advised US/Coalition commanders on development strategy of utilizing Afghanistan’s first rotary wing scout/attack squadron, resulting in the unit’s formation and employment within 4 months of initiating training.

Served as an Instructor Pilot, responsible for assisting the commander in developing and implementing the Aircrew Training Program consisting of 30 assigned aviators and crews, and forecasting the unit’s Flying Hour Program. Key contributions:• Trained and instructed a total of 40 aviators, including progressing 25 PCs/AMCs, 15 RL progressions, and a critical role in the unit’s High Altitude Mountainous Environmental Training, flying 60 NG hours in 3 weeks.• Managed the platoon’s ATP, effectively preparing the unit for multiple successful training center rotations.
