My passion is aviation.I am a private pilot who flies recreationally out of the Oshawa Airport near Toronto. My husband and I use our Cessna 172 for short and long trips (Canada, U.S. and the Bahamas) and to introduce others to aviation (especially women and young people). In 2010, I led a group of 50 pilots to make my home airport, Oshawa, the 2010 most female-pilot friendly airport in the world. In 2012, I helped establish The Institute for Women Of Aviation Worldwide, an independent, not-for-profit, global consortium of businesses and organizations that want to foster diversity, thus growth, in the air and space industry.Currently, each year, in collaboration with the First Canadian Chapter of the Ninety-Nines and the Durham Flight Training Centre, I organize an event at the Oshawa Airport called Girls Take Flight, to introduce girls and women to aviation.I also enjoy speaking to groups about aviation. My most popular presentation called "Life is too short to be a passenger" is a motivational/inspiration discussion of my life changing decision in 2005. It is the story of my journey from burned-out corporate executive to award-winning private pilot, with lots of photos, including photos of the Bahamas from the air.Specialties:• Motivational Speaking• Leadership• Overcoming obstacles• Introducing women and youth to aviation
