The Works Council of Team Rockstars IT is called the Board of Excellence. It consists of 1 representative per chapter + 2 representatives of our HQ. I was elected to represent Chapter North.

The main responsibility of the Tech Board is to act as a quality gatekeeper for new hires. This way we maintain a high level of knowledge and skill within our community. Each chapter also has a local version of the Works Council which is called the Chapter Board. As Tech board lead java, I represented the Java Tech Board members in our chapter.

In order to measure my living climate around the house, I created a open source project that uses hardware sensors connected to Raspberry Pi's to measure various metrics like temperature, humidity and CO2 levels. The data is read using Python scripts and collected by a Spring Boot application. The data is stored in Prometheus and presented using Grafana. Working on integration with Philips Hue and Google Nest. This project also often serves as my guinea pig to experiment and try out the latest Java and Spring releases.

As tech lead of the integrations team I helped to design and implement software integrations between various products of Avinty like Karify (E-health platform for clients) and USER (the electronic patients file for clinicians) and 3rd parties like Vecozo. These integrations help other teams deliver more value faster, in a more consistent manner and with less maintenance. With thousands of end-users relying on this software every day, quality is key. As lead I challenge the business, make technical and architectural decisions, create proof of concepts and explore the latest opportunities. I coach other co-workers and help other teams to get up to speed with our integrations. Last but not least: I participated as speaker during the Avinty Dev Day in 2022.

This award winning[1] platform powered by APG helps employers to empower their employees to get and stay financially fit. As (Lead) backend engineer I aligned with the stakeholders and frontend team, helped writing stories and challenged requirements and shared knowledge and coached the other backend engineers (a team of 5). Backend developer of the Payment Order and Approvals capabilities of the Digital Banking Services product from Backbase. Besides developing, maintaining and reviewing the software for these components I'm also the Backend Chapter Lead for two R&D tribes located in the Amsterdam Office. As Chapter Lead I take care each team keeps their components up to date and we share knowledge and lessons learned across the teams. I'm also their single point of contact for backend guild related topics and pass information from the backend guild to the teams and back. I help the backend guild by sharing idea's and providing feedback. Last but not least, I hosted a workshop during the developer days as part of Backbase Connect 2018.

Responsible for the applications to initiation manual payments and upload payment files in the Inside Business portal, the target online platform for wholesale customers to do all their financial businesses. Always looking for the best balance between quality and velocity as to enable the business to onboard new customers to this new target platform.Within the portal I also work closely together with other teams to add value in general, ranging from a new front-end architecture to improve user experience and performance to contributing to the maintenance and development of a docker container setup to standardize the development process and to get new developers up and running in no time.

Naast de reguliere werkzaamheden voor Info Support als consultant heb ik daarnaast ook nog het volgende gedaan:- Afstudeerder begeleid- Gesproken op conferenties: IoT Tech Days, Java Forum Nord (Duitsland) & JavaCro (Kroatië).- 2e gewoorden tijdens de Innovation Project wedstrijd met een idee om een IoT Voetbaltafel te maken op basis van Arduino's en Raspberry Pi's.- Kennis gedeeld door middel van het geven van Info Support Kennis Avonden en Cursussen.

Voor mijn afstudeerstage bij Info Support heb ik onderzoek gedaan naar de open standaard Content Management Interoperability Service (CMIS). Dit is een soort query language voor Enterprise Management Systemen (EMS). Hierbij is gebruik gemaakt van het open source Java EMS pakket Alfresco. Alfresco is gebruikt in een proof of concept om de maandstaten van medewerker te beheren. Door het gebruik van CMIS kan in theorie makkelijk van Alfresco overgestapt worden naar andere EMS pakket dat compatable is met CMIS zoals bijvoorbeeld Sharepoint. Het resultaat van mijn onderzoek was zeer waardevol voor Info Support omdat het hun inzicht gaf in de mogelijkheden en beperkingen die de CMIS standaard met zich meebrengt. Deze kennis kon vervolgens ingezet worden in projecten waarbij een EMS pakket betrokken was.

Verscheidene websites ontwikkeld met het Zend Framework. Hierbij was ik vooral verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerpen en implementeren van maatwerk waarbij de klant nauw betrokken werd. De sites draaien op een CMS systeem ontworpen door AdamsYoung.

Als onderdeel van het Honoursprogramma heb ik een half jaar stage gelopen bij Stabiplan. Stabiplan ontwikkelt productiviteitstools voor Stabicad. Voor mijn stage heb ik meegewerkt aan een Software Operation Knowledge tool. Deze tool meet en rapporteert het gebruik van de producten van Stabiplan om deze verder te optimaliseren.

Voor mijn eerste stage voor het honoursprogramma bij Dit’s Media heb ik met het CakePHP een project opgezet waarmee Dit’s Media scholen tegemoet wil komen door de administratie te moderniseren. Hierbij staat communicatie centraal waarbij leerlingen, docenten en ouders digitaal via dit platform contact met elkaar kunnen zoeken.
